I am a proud 1985 graduate of FCHS and grew up on a farm in the Hopewell area. After graduating from Purdue University in 1989 with a B.S. in Retail Management, I had no idea what I wanted for my future. I accepted a job as a nanny in New York City and stayed in the area for two years until I chose to apply to Indiana University to earn my teaching degree. I student taught at Northwest High School (IPS) in the spring of 1993, graduated in June of that same year, and married my husband just two months later.
I began my career at Ben Davis High school where I taught nearly every level of English over a 6 year period. I next taught at Shelbville High School for 3 years before accepting my current position at FCHS in 2002, and I plan on never leaving. I absolutely love what I do and feel fortunate to reside and work in such a wonderful community. Doug, my husband, and I have two daughters, Kathleen and Samantha, both of whom are students in Franklin schools.
